HOW TO APPLY
The four-year arts programme begins with the one-year foundation course starting every year in August and finishing in late May or early June.
Deadline for applications is April 1 2025. The foundation course precedes the three-year studio-based programmes.
The studio-based programmes have starting dates twice a year and applications are received throughout the year.
In exceptional cases, students may be admitted straight on to the studio-based programmes assuming that equivalent qualifications have been gained elsewhere.

CLASS AND LESSON SCHEDULES
At the Aarhus Academy of Fine Arts, the autumn semester starts in August and finishes mid-December; the spring semester starts in January and finishes in late May.
A total of 19 lessons are taught per week between Monday and Wednesday.
Each semester will have 18 weeks of classes.
Students have access to academy studios – also after classes.
PRICES
The Aarhus Academy of Fine Arts is funded by grants from the City of Aarhus, pursuant to Folkeoplysningsloven (the Act on Non-Formal Education and Democratic Voluntary Activity). Funds are allocated on the basis of the provisions in this Act. The remaining costs are borne by the students.
Neither the foundation course nor the studio-based programmes are eligible for Statens Uddannelsesstøtte (SU) (the State Education Grants), but the City of Aarhus provides a further subsidy, in effect further reducing fees payable by students, recipients of state benefits, people on early retirement, and pensioners.
The prices cover one semester, including teaching and lectures as well as all model hours required plus some materials. Study trips and external instructors are paid separately.
